JAM
CAMPS AND TRAINING
JAM exists to train and disciple young leaders, and this often happens on camps. On a camp, a young person has the opportunity to be away from any distractions in their home environment, and has the opportunity listen and learn while engaging in hands-on experiences.
School Camps
Most of our School camps are done on Apostle Battery, Cape Town and on Aswater Farm, Prince Albert. These camps are a great way of building a good team spirit and to get to know one another. Our emphasis on these camps are issues like communication, unity, conflict management, leadership and team spirit! Leadership Camps
This is our largest focus area in our camping ministry. We get different groups that come for leadership camps, for example student councils or church groups. We mostly use the Pointman Youth Curriculum that some of our staff helped to develop. This curriculum emphasizes the importance of character-based leadership. We address issues of integrity, diligence, responsibility, loyalty, humility to mention only a few. We do these camp at all 4 of our bases and even in other parts of Africa (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi etc). Outreach Camps
This is where we bring children and youth from previously disadvantaged communities to attend a 3 to 5 day camp. Most of these campers would never have had an opportunity like this before. Our emphasis on these camps is the share the Gospel of Jesus, to help young people know their identity and God’s purpose with their lives and to simply have FUN! |
