Bambisana Village, Eastern Cape
Bambisana Village is located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, formerly known as the Transkei (when it was still an independant homeland). Bambisana village is 28km away from the nearest town, Lusikisiki. People in this area are part of the Pondo ethnic group and are Xhosa-speaking. They are a hospitable, beautiful and accepting people.
The majority of people in this area are very open to the Gospel – schools are also open and accessible. However, many people mix their belief in God with a belief in traditional/ancestral worship. We have found that a focus on the person of Jesus has proven very important. The children are incredible and have a way of working their way into your heart. Sadly, many of them are affected by HIV/AIDS and often grow up in harsh living conditions. Praise Jesus, that He brings hope to the hopeless, the forgotten and the broken. The place, people and beauty of the Transkei continue to teach us more and more about our awesome Creator.
JAM focuses on leadership development and discipleship in schools, through sports, camps and where ever God opens a door. We also partner with churches in the area.
